Music in General Conference

Wasn’t General Conference great?

Several of the music items were from our catalog, including “How Firm a Foundation” Arranged by James Kasen in the Women’s Conference, “Consider the Lilies” from “Music and the Spoken Word”, “Come Follow Me” and “Jesus, Savior Pilot Me” arranged by Manookin in the Sunday Morning session, and several others too. (We feel very grateful for the privilege of being a little behind-the-scene part of conference).

I also noted that the choir sang immediately after the opening prayer…was it EVERY time?…well, every time I watched for it…either an anthem or an hymn. It added such beauty and balance to the conference.

Another thing: did you notice, too, how many times a second organist assisted on the bench? I love that humble spirit of accepting and giving support, and and of not being bound by tradition.
