I am having trouble with my new note setting software today. Sibelius 5.2 saves .eps files which have no musical symbols. I stewed over the problem for most of the day, finally converting my current file back to Sibelius 4.0 before rendering it.
Sibelius, even with the temporary bug, is still the finest software on the market. It is so much more beautiful, intuitive, and elegant than Finale. The bug will be repaired momentarily. I suspect it is an issue of Mac OS Tiger versus Leopard.
My current project is the Christmas octavo, “One Star” by Thayne Martin and Julia Ryan—which is a big surprise! The piece features a syncopated spin-out (hook), making it fresh and engaging. It will be a change-of-pace on our demo recording. I finished rough layout at 6:15 p.m.
The ChoralClub began assembly today. We are revealing new Christmas and Thanksgiving octavos in the August packet.
