Elder Joseph P. Wirthlin, from the Quorum of the Twelve, “Swifty”, as President Thomas S. Monson calls him, died on December 1st. His funeral was this morning at 11:00 a.m.. His family requested that the Tabernacle Choir sing our “Consider the Lilies” for the funeral. (That is a tremendous honor to Roger Hoffman. A. Larence Lyon, and to Jackman Music Corporation.) We are going to miss Elder Wirthlin. We will miss his humble demeanor and his football stories.
I finished prepping “I’m a Woman” for the internet today. We published this piece for women’s chorus back in 1974, a year before our company was started. It is a sacred song about being a daughter of God, and has been useful in Relief Society functions. It has been out of stock now for years. The composer is Ann Kapp Andersen. This piece has been a favorite of mine. I have good memories workshopping this piece in my early career. The stock number is #08027. $1.25. Order a download through JackmanMusicExpress.com.
