BYU Women’s Conference underway

Carole and I were guests of Kathleen Lindsay this morning at the opening services of the BYU Women’s Conference. I felt only a tiny bit out of place there. I was sitting next to Michael F. Moody. The session called for an ad hoc women’s choir with a very nice orchestra. Speakers included Julie Beck, General President of the LDS Church Relief Society, and Sherri Dew, CEO of Deseret Book Company. The talks were terrific.

I was so pleased by the performances of our new SSA work, “Come unto Christ” by Vanja Y. Watkins and Marvin K. Gardner, and of the SSA setting of “Come unto Christ” by Michael F. Moody, Jan Pinborough, and James E. Faust. How unusual it is to hear brand new works for choir and orchestra! Kathleen Lindsay conducted. Thanks so much for all of the effort. I feel it was well worth it.
Sewing up loose ends today: contracts, proofs, etc.
