The Forgiving is a choral work for mixed SATB chorus and piano that explores the personal nature of forgiveness. The piece moves through contrasting musical ideas, beginning in tension and gradually shifting toward a more reflective character.

At its center, bitterness yields to the Savior’s invitation to forgive, reflected in a musical shift from minor to major. The work ends by settling into a quiet sense of peace and humility.
