Written as a tribute to the late Bill Hesterman (renown organ builder and player), this stirring organ arrangement of "They, the Builders of the Nation" by Clay Christiansen captures the strength, faith, and determination of the pioneer legacy. Originally commissioned as a postlude for the 2024 Days of ’47 Sunrise Service on Temple Square, the work honors Hesterman’s remarkable contributions as an organ builder, organist, and cherished friend.

Built upon a noble, deliberate rhythmic foundation, the arrangement unfolds with rich counterpoint and increasing grandeur. As the music progresses, the full resources of the organ are gradually brought into play, culminating in a powerful triple-forte conclusion that evokes the courage, sacrifice, and enduring influence of the pioneers. Both majestic and deeply expressive, this challenging organ solo is especially well suited for Pioneer Day programs, sacred concerts, and worship services celebrating faith, heritage, and devotion.
