He Is Risen

As Easter weekend begins, we want to express our witness that "He is risen!" Jesus Christ rose from the tomb and that truth is the great message of hope to all the world! Through Him, peace and joy in this life and the next is made possible. May you receive that peace this Easter as you rejoice in the resurrected Lord!

We also want to extend a genuine "THANK YOU" for your continued support over the past year! And thank you for the way you minister to others through music—this is a much needed medicine for our world right now. Music is one of the most effective ways we can communicate God's love to others and, as we learn in scripture, "the song of the righteous is a prayer unto [God]." So thank you for letting Jackman Music be part of your efforts to lift others through sacred music!

We're also grateful for the support of our artists—the incredibly talented people who have contributed to the Jackman Music catalog! This month, we honor David R. Naylor, who passed away recently. David will be greatly missed and he left a legacy that will forever be remembered.

David was a wonderful person who shared his love of music and the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout his life. David was born in Murray, Utah with an uncommon interest in music, but did not pursue that interest seriously until, as a young teenager in Coalville, Utah, he failed in an attempt to earn his Boy Scout music merit badge. Soon thereafter, as an act of adolescent defiance, he began composing music for church and school.

David graduated in 1987 with a B.S. degree in Music Education from Southern Utah University via Snow College and Brigham Young University. He taught in the public schools of Fillmore and Tooele, Utah, and directed the L.D. Singers, a touring group affiliated with the L.D.S. Institute of Religion in Ephraim.

Naylor sang with the Tabernacle Choir and has published nearly 100 works with Jackman Music, including settings for choir, piano, voice, and orchestra. His original composition, "Behold the Wounds in Jesus' Hands" continues to be among Jackman Music's most beloved choral works.

In our continued mission to release music that uplifts and edifies, we just recently released The Master's Touch Vol. 2.

Marden Pond and David Glen Hatch did a beautiful job creating this fresh and classic approach to playing hymns. The Master's Touch series features hymns arranged in the distinct styles of the great composers in classical music history: Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Mendelssohn, etc... The books are fun to play and even more enjoyable to hear! If you are or if someone you know is an advanced pianist, The Master's Touch will be a real treasure! CLICK HERE to learn more.

Jackman Music just announced its new coil binding service. Add coil binding to any Jackman Music book for just $3.50! Simply add the "Coil Binding" option to your cart on a product page while shopping online. Click here to see all products with the coil binding option.

We are thrilled to announce our upcoming video series resource: Minister through MusicMinister Through Music helps and inspires those who minister in church through music. For example: there will be resources for Primary Song Leaders, giving them great ideas on how to teach songs and bring the message of the music to life. You can expect some new beautiful primary songs as well. There will also be video lessons for choir directors and vocalist/instrumentalists alike.

Lastly, a new publication that will make your heart sing... or at least your voice. Keep your eyes open for our new vocal solos book featuring the most popular pieces for Latter-day Saints, including "This is the Christ", "His Hands", "I Heard Him Come", and more! Coming later this month.

We hope you enjoy celebrating the immeasurable miracle of Christ's love this Easter weekend. If you're looking for a place to worship this Sunday, we invite you to join us as we listen to the beautiful music and messages featured in the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this Saturday and Sunday. The music presented in General Conferences are always heart-warming and inspiring and you may even hear a few Jackman Music titles.

May God bless you,

The Jackman Music Team

I’m sorry to hear of Brother Naylor’s passing. I have been a choir director for many years and our choir always enjoyed singing Brother Naylor’s choir arrangements. He will be greatly missed.
