Inspired by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf’s description of Easter as “the day that changed everything,” this Award of Distinction recipient in the 2024 Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints music contest traces the Savior’s journey—from the manger to the cross to the empty tomb—culminating in the triumphant declaration that He lives. With heartfelt text and a soaring melody, the piece beautifully expresses both the grandeur of the Resurrection and its deeply personal promise: because He lives, we are healed, redeemed, and made whole.

Rich four-part harmony gives this setting depth and warmth, while expressive vocal pass-offs between sections add meaning, movement, and variety to the unfolding message. Tender, reverent moments blossom into a stirring chorus of praise—“With the heavens sing praise to God, our King, on this day that changed everything!”—creating a powerful opportunity for choirs to bear testimony through unified and dynamic sound.

Scored for SATB and piano, this arrangement is ideal for Easter worship services and Resurrection-centered programs.
